A million monkeys typing on a million keyboards?
  • Desiato · 7 years ago
First I wasn't sure what it was, but then the light turned on above my head.

Pretty cool idea, I mean to implement this on my site as well, but with an identical text color as the background so it doesn't show up.

    Yeah!! I like it!
  • Carlo Zottmann · 7 years ago
I was too lazy to put it in comment tags, and I'm not sure if the spam bots would pick it up then.
  • entipy · 7 years ago
You know, I'd seen things like this several times before (not fake email addresses, but keywords and such) and always thought it was a pretty cool idea. This beats 'em all, though, for ingenuity. I wish there was someway to disguise private emails to filter out that crap.... hmmmm.....

    Nice work G. Cunning.

Yeh, suppose if I type places kahles_uk @ ntlworld.com then people reading can work my address out but bots cant.
  • Desiato · 7 years ago
Yeah, I put my address on my site with a few spaces in there, but I guess most people just ignore that. Luckily it doesn't seem to have increased my spam load, so I guess it's working...heh.
  • YoungBeard · 7 years ago
I lived on AOL so long, that the spam doesn't even bother me any more.
  • Lupus · 7 years ago
Nice. How about you also add a few that link to the FBI, or various governments, so that their mail servers get constant spambot hits. That might increase the incentive for those who can take action against spammers to actually do something. Or is that a bad idea?
  • Desiato · 7 years ago
Believe it or not, most spammers are smart enough to filter out .gov and .mil domains in their lists. I guess if they didn't it wouldn't be such a big problem as it is today....
  • entipy · 7 years ago
heheheh... Lupus has the right idea!
  • -Kay- · 7 years ago
kewl, ... Is it possible for me to get a .gov address?
  • Lupus · 7 years ago
Maybe, but I think you'll have to take over a small country. kahless@gov.tinypacificisland or some such... ;)

Or we could hire a boat and storm SeaLand. How about it? ;) Any other volunteers?

I've always wanted to rule my own country :)

I've always wondered what it would take to get a country. And what is the minimum requirements to reach country status. If I managed to become mayor of a small county, would (If everyone agreed in the county) it be possible to declare our selves a seperate country?

Owning a island would be nice. But the possiblity of that right now for me is a billion to one. But I can still dream. Actually, I'd live anywhere that had decent weather and a good net connection...just the money thing holding me back. Pity.
