G-blog net is....
My virtual hangout, where I can knock back a beer and converse with some interesting people. Several advantages over say, a bar. I can hear (read) what people are saying no matter what, nobody is blowing smoke in my face (I'm not militant about it, but it tends to bother me long-term) and the drinks are priced right.
I like coming here because it is alive. I feel like my words matter, that people read and come away understanding a little more about me because I've shared, and most importantly, they share back.
Somewhere I threw ideas out at during a time of crisis when I really didn't know who to talk to and it was sooo much easier to do it anonymously Somewhere I was made to feel very welcome :-) Somewhere I get the company of someone who is older than eighteen months (albeit virtual) Somewhere I get to throw ideas out and not get laughed at too much Somewhere people throw ideas out at me, or just talk about subjects that I wouldn't have known about if it wasn't here Somewhere I feel like part of a community - people "know" me to a certain extent and I "know" them to a certain extent.

Blue. And one of the few, remaining corners of the Internet where I can pass comment and expect an intelligent or at least, constructive response without flaming, attitude, naivety, childishness or general lack of social etiquette.

G-Blog is....
the first place I check in the morning, and sometimes the last at night. somewhere I can share my thoughts and get comments back. somewhere that my friends can read about my life, since I suck at e-mail. a nice place to get insightful comments and ponderances.
And a lot of the things that people have already said.
It has also added people that FanBoy and I want to meet when we head over to Europe for our honeymoon.

my hub where i talk with my favorite people.
G-blog is also evil and is costing my mom alot of internet clicks, after which she gets mad at me! damn you Gossip =(

No, really, it's the place I often hang out at to read mostly Gossip's posts... this way I keep up with what he and Dana are up to almost on a daily basis since we don't call each other that often :-)

But I agree with the other sentiments here: people from wide ranging backgrounds; obscure yet interesting topics; but above all, G-blog is a nice, generally friendly community.
A great place, with great people I may someday ACTUALLY meet. Damn hard to update frequently. A source for random (and not so random) interaction. An interesting guide for intentional community.
I'm sure there's more. I just can't think of it right now.
