Sounds cool. I will check it out when I get home--don't want to download stuff or get something long and addictive to read at work.

This is such a cool project - downloading the novel now! :)

I think it's a intersting concept but lets face it if people can get it for free why would they pay for it.

He needs to have a timer on it or something that would prevent it from being viewed after x number of days. Or have it delete every other word. If he could make it part of some program so that it could be viewed but not printed that would also be better for him. If you pay the dollar then he would release a code to allow you to print the book.

I do hope that it works out for him. I'll check the book out then make then most likely send the buck even if I don't like it cause few people will send it I think.

    Because some people are nice.

I donate 5-10 monthly to PA because i like their site. If people appreciate content, they'll pay.

    imho

I agree w/ ekoo. I too pay for sites I really like. PA being one of them... if the book's good, I'll pay for it as well. PJG has tought me a lot of things, one of them: it's nice to see people care, and it's nice if people appreciate the work you do enough to spend a buck or two to help you keep that freedom to do what you're good at. :)

Its nice. But I don't know how many people are nice. I try, but I don't have a lot of money. As a result, I won't download the book because I don't want to feel guilty for not paying for it.

OTOH, I donated to PJG when I used it, and I may still have a static one setup for even when I don't. ;-)

I think that there should be some sort of code to only allow X number of views. I just don't trust people. Especially when it comes to the internet. Too many people believe everything should be free for them. Unless its something that they want to get paid for.

    Sigh.

I don't think the e-books/mags/novels are that great of an idea or a great market right now. Most of the stuff (not all, of course) that I have seen online is stuff that could not be sold to a "real" market (i.e. paper mag or publishing house). Its like vanity press, only cheaper for the author.

I hope the novel is good, however. There must always be pioneers.

I paid the shareware fee plus some. I haven't read the story yet, but I've downloaded it. Having an easy way to make payments for stuff like this (paypal) make me more willing to contribute.

Gossip - since you're bringing down PJG at the end of the month, I cancelled my paypal donation subscription. A payment for this month should have already gone through, so please don't immediately deactivate my account. :P
