Will there be a Mac Client for this?
  • Morn · 5 years ago
Xyleth, I think so. Blizzard are usually pretty serious about providing Mac versions of their games.

Overall though, I'm not as excited about WoW as I am about Guild Wars (which, by the way, is being developed by a bunch of ex-Blizzardos). While WoW may finally bring some remote perfection to a genre where things like horrid graphics et al are generally accepted, Guild Wars actually provides a new slant that I believe to be rather exciting.

    Woooot!

    Yes, there's a Mac client for it...though I haven't read into what Mac OS(es) it's for.

Probably OSX. The rest is crap anyways (silly broad generalization ends here).

OS X... though I'm not sure what the minimum requirements are. All I know is that my G4 450 doesn't cut it.

Any major advancements in MMORPGs that concentrate on PvP are pretty much destined to fail, I think. Most of your developments should be spent on PvM because that's what the vast majority of your potential players are interested in, and the PvP players are, in general a fickle lot with short attention spans. About the time you think you've got them, they've already moved on to the next new thing.

Of course, studies indicate that you only have to hold on to players for six months to make sure you've made your money off of them.

I give Blizzard credit for one big thing thus far... low level play is both fast and fun. Levelling doesn't seem to slow down much until you hit 10th or so, IME.

If anyone can spare a beta account, I'll take it. ;)
