i must be getting old, cause i can't find such an indicator anywhere... could ya help me out here plz?

Frontpage and categories pages. Under each entry listed you got the little bar which tells you who wrote it etc, like this:

[Quote] [Comments (1)] . 1 new . [Gossip] . [Announcements] [Quote]

Now if there are new comments to an entry which you've read before, it'll show you. In the example above, it tells you that there is one new comment. No (new) comment, no indicator.

ah nevermind... i got it :) i was expecting to see something in control panel which would show whether any of the entries that i have commented in have got more recent comments than mine.

I'd like to see a "mark all comments as read" at least globaly, but maybe even by category?

Yeah, I know Lilith asked about it too. Is this something you're planning to add, or no?

That's all right, now that I've gone through the posts on the front page and marked them all read manually, I'm not sure how often I'd use it. I usually glance at all the messages at least once anyway.

I was hoping for a quickand easy way (read, I'm lazy) to clear the "new" comments flag from the blogs I'd already read.

I will probably make note of my usage habits with the new comments flag. I may bug you about it again in a few weeks. :)

This thread has rapidly degenerated. But what's a few off-topic threads among friends. Seems there are a few of us at work that don't really have a job, so we troll the boards. You can count me in that too. Still wish I could see PJG at work tho.

Ahh, but since I have less work than most and can set my own time mostly, I get home quicker than all of you. hehehe

I think we established some time ago that the "new comments' feature Gossip set up works fine.

If nothing else, Lilith and I are giving it a hell of a workout today.

Actually it's a pretty good test. Now I know for sure that I need to tweak it a bit, so you'll end up not on the first comment page but on the appropriate one if there are -say- 30 comments but just 2 of 'em new.

Very nice Gossip.....but... when you go to your control panel and look at the 25 most recent threads you have commented on. There is an indicator of how many new comments are there....but, no way to click straight to the new comments.

Why you are at it.... can u fix the login for the Jossh forums? And get rid of the 3do opening sequence when starting Jumpgate?

P.S. The last two requests are just jokes...

okay here's a bug for ya. i go to my control panel's list of entries that i have commented in. unfortunately some completely different entries point to the same one location. like this:

Books: is anyone here deep into sci-fi at all? not fantasy, but ... Silencerr
Books: I'm much better now... really. wait don't go talking about ... Druid
