I've already quit. No, just kidding. I think about switching for a while by now, but this is the point where the actual transition from idea to action is visible. The end is nigh, job-wise. :) I won't quit until she 6-months testing period is over, tho.. That's the plan, at least.
Anyways, this is also the point where I begin browsing the Apple store. *g*

I think I'll go with a PowerMac G5. I want some sufficient horsepower for the next one or two years as well as a good video card for playing games; and the PowerMacs are offering both. Mac Mini and iMac both don't, unfortunately.
Still, the Mac Mini are very nice for the average and slightly-above-average user, especially for that price tag.

That's exactly the market they are aiming for. Someone with an aging late 90's early 2000's vintage PC by the likes of Dell or Gateway who bought an iPod and are now interested in Apple.
And who want a PC that just works
I never really thought that a Mini was for you tbh (you are more of a PowerMac person) but I'm just so bouncy about the whole concept I had to throw it in :D
Question is single or dual G5s?

Not sure about single/dual yet. Dual would be nice, of course, but since I'm a big fan of silent machines it'd need to be one with watercooling which means more expensive. So, I think I'll wait for the announcement regarding the new PowerMac models (due soon, IIRC), and see what the single CPU front is like.
