Best of luck to you, Gossip.... Re-invention is never "easy," but it's always more rewarding than comfort.

Side note: I visited former East Germany back in the summer of 1993. We were all over the place for 10 days. Mostly smaller places. Sosa being the only one I remember the name of, really. (I suppose because it was the first stop.) Dresden was really cool. I had a nice time there. So, if you happened to be at a choir concert in a church in June 1993 sometime, it's possible I was singing in it... LOL

I think that it's possible to do anything you set your mind to... Friends you can go to a restaurant with, or who can help you move - they have real value in your life.

Yes, they do. If only I had more of those.

    Not in THIS podunk town

    Gossip,

I loved this entry. It helped me feel like I know you better. On the other hand, it seems like I'm getting to you just in time for you to pull away. But having physical, commonly seen friends, is a very good thing and I wish you luck and happiness.

@entipy: nope, wasn't there, sorry. Eastern Germany wasn't that small. ;)

@Zhaneel: I'm not leaving, don't worry, I'm just trying to cut down the amount of time I spend online time.

I was deeply touched by your entry to which I can strongly relate: been there, done that - for a long time I was "there" myself but meeting Nighthawk changed things in a huge way.

Having shared 8 months with you and Dana in Munich was great though funnily enough, we tend to see each other more often now that we live 400km apart. But I still dearly miss the opportunity to just do a strawberry cake, pick up the phone, call the two of you and ask whether you'd like to come by to help me eat it. You need to have those people - some people need them more, some less. You might be one of the latter... but still you should have a (whatever small) number of inner city friends - just as you said.

Be proud of yourself that you took the time and got the insight of what is going on with your life. Not many people do that - either because they simply don't see it... or they're too afraid of what they might find if they gave their life a closer look.

You know I love you dearly, "little" brother :) and I can't wait to see you and Dana for the week of New Year's Eve. The online thingy is great and allows me to stay in close contact with you... But you're right - spend less time here. Go and reach out, you might be surprised who you could run into...

So, I'll just revert more to the phone then since I won't let go.. :)

    Love,
    Soraya

PS: But choosing the convenient way is soooo convenient.. *sighs*
