I'd say Karma. Or fate. That looks like WinXP with all the bells and whistles switched on, so it's only the universe punishing the sinner for their OS indiscretion ;P Cute puppy, though.

XP is a great OS. And I say that as a happy user, no sarcasm. Fast, runs everything I need, pretty much no crashes whatsoever, and great usability. And I get Mozilla, OpenOffice and the likes for it - I'm one happy geek. :)
Linux is great for the server market, but it's not ready for the desktop yet. At least not IMHO.

I agree with you. I just don't like XP with all the pointless theme, fluffy-bunny, hold-your-hand and do everything for you cruft switched on. My experiences of XP have ranged from "WTF? Where have all my icons gone?" to "Huh? I didn't ask you to [insert random OS process here]?" - it's too presumptuous (by default) and wastes too many cycles on a nice'n'fuzzy UI for me. I much prefer Win2K. But then, I am a self-confessed OS fascist. And I agree completely re: Linux.

I'm actually using Linux for my desktop machine, and have only a few frustrations. (SuSE 8.0, using pwm window manager, and bash in rxvt).
But I don't game.

I think, the funniest thing about this picture is that the person who's making the photo of doggie peeing is actually caring more about making the photo than about the laptop... or would you watch in awe if *your* puppy peed on *your* laptop... and care to go and catch the camera? :-))))
God doesn't give you paper-training, but he does grant you a little logic, so your guardian watches you carefully, and picks you up and places you on newspaper whenever you have that 'gonna make' look on your face.
After a while, you get the hang of it: Whiz anywhere, get scolded. Get placed somewhere and whiz: Get praised. This puppy existence ain't so tough: You pee where your master tells you to pee.
A few weeks later this silly geekus erectus thinks about his cute puppy, and glaces at his cute Sony Vaio. He grins and grabs his cute digital camera, deciding that a little cuteness is in order.
Oblivious to being cute, puppy thinks, 'Mmm.. I should start looking for that newspaper thing...'
With digicam in hand, master grabs puppy, opens Vaio, and places one atop the other. As master says "Stay" and takes aim, the puppy recalls the only trick he's learned so far, and does the same. [Quote]
