You're neither. It's not bad to be without a cell. Hell, I know geeks who flat-out refuse to use 'em. I think it's a personal choice.
Interestingly enough, I think that the increase of cell phone ownership has lead to a LACK of clear communication when planning things. Soooo many times I've seen people call each other up because they're at the same venue, but can't figure out where to find their friends. It's kinda creepy.

Yes. I've read a study about how cellphones changed the social behaviour of German teenagers. Basically they refuse to make appointments with their friends up front; instead they call eachother when they are out already.
Creepy... sorta, yes. It's a change in how people interact with eachother. Communicational evolution, maybe?
