    Really though.

I definitely play my PS2 more than I play my xbox. Then again, there are SO many more games for the PS2, that's another strong point it has going for it.

In addition, the Japanese market is mainly for RPGs and Fighter games. Both usually with highly stylzed art and Japanese references.

X-box doesn't have those, at all. In addition, the few games they do have are very American-centric.

I wouldn't count them out yet. They have deep, deep pockets... about as deep as it gets. They aren't Sega who's main business is games. Microsoft has shown over and over that it is willing to take substantial losses in return for market share.

In the long run the ease of ability to program and create games for the XBox versus the Playstation2 is an advantage for Microsoft.

Also online gaming is an area where a lot of future growth in consoles will occur. Microsoft appears to have a lot more experience in that area than Sony.

The advantage Sony has is more titles and an inherit advantage in the Japanese market.

Anyway, no I am not a Microsoft evanglist.. just a realist. I am still waiting for the Linux based console :)

I for one definitely plan on getting a PS2 once the linux is released. (The other incentive being Soulcalibur 2 ^_^)
