ekoo, a permanent link means it's the link to the particular entry. Right now when you click on the little "[e]" in your entries, you'll end up on your blog page for the date the entry was written. If there was more than one entry you made that day, the page would list all those entries.
So the permalink allows you to link on single entry only. It's no breakthrough or anything, it was just requested. ;)
