Im not going to go into my view besides to tell you a few choice places where you can put your ICC.

Every time I hear about something like this and go to try and get more information (so as to make an accurate and informed decision), I get so bogged down in the abundance of crap out there, I get frustrated and tired and quit.

From the tiny bit I've read, it seems as though the purpose of establishing the ICC would be to offer justice for genocide only. Is that correct? Or would the Court be used to punish everything? down to individual acts?

I also wanted to find out about the other side and found a site called USA for ICC. It is quite good and explaining some of the issues but not all of them. I will keep looking to see if I can find out any more.

well hi folk its that one kid that like to rain on parades like this.
well well well what have we here? US troops (under UN command )where on a routine patrol near where this girls body was found raped and murdered. well lets accuse them and dirty there hands. even if we dont get a conviction its still going to make them think twice about sending more peace keeping troops to Bosnia (where there are STILL UN troops keeping the peace), south korea, the south china sea or anywhere else for that matter.

dont think the enemys of the US (who are large in number and lacking in the morals area) wouldn't try. war crimes? um hello? yeah we have the UMJ (Unifor code of Millitary Justice) the ICC is just trying to tell the US you cant have war criminals to prosacute under the system you have beacuse we say so. there are sick people out there in every army in every nation. we have a was to deal with them, we have a set of laws and courts. the ICC is just a way of having propaganda be a tool for anyone to launch a "law suit." it makes propaganda a weapon of polotics. its a tool to do who knows what. im sure you all have good reasons for liking it. and if there was a world government this type of thing would be needed, but theres not. please think about it from my side. i dont mind if you dont agree but if you see my points that all i care about.

Well Deffender I can see your point but are you not being a little paranoid. "The enemys of the US" - I don't think it is only the US that has enemies but other countries have still signed up. From what I read the US would be very unlikely to have any of its citizens tried at an ICC court. I don't have all the facts however and would like to find out more but don't seem to be able to. Do you know of any good websites?

sorry ethal all i have heard and know about has come from the wall street journal and the BBC. the fact is the the US is labeled as an "enrmy" to many differnt groups (if not nations) the 9/11 attacks showed that the US would be a target befor the UK, canada, or any other country that is democratic. the things i said were coming for common sence. the US is a target, you can't argue on that point. as a target defence without going around chopping random heads off is what is needed. paranoya is a good thing when your trying to protect yourself. too much can be dumb, but then again being paranoid is better then being in terror.
    peace and prayers.
